The answer depends on the assessment and the pattern of symptoms. Distance, pace, hills and the gap between runs all change the load. Some runners can continue with adjusted running while building strength; others need a temporary pause from impact.
Track symptoms during the run, later that day and the next morning. A steady or improving response can be different from pain that climbs, changes your stride or leaves you noticeably worse afterwards. Tendon loading and running changes should work together rather than compete.
WHEN TO GET HELP
If pain is sudden, severe or associated with a pop or loss of push-off strength, stop and seek assessment promptly.
