Some rehabilitation plans allow a degree of tolerable discomfort during loading; others require more caution. The site of pain, diagnosis, change in symptoms and response over the next day all matter. No single pain number is a universal permission slip.

Notice whether discomfort settles, whether function is improving and whether the next session starts from your usual baseline. Escalating pain, new swelling or altered movement is a reason to adjust the plan, rather than forcing the prescribed dose.
